The library sponsors lots of programs that are especially important for me -- so that I can learn new things relating to sustainability or gardening or simplifying my life -- and so much more. The Be Green program has been especially supportive of my interest as regards alerting the public concerning increasingly limited resources -- and some of the ways we can change our habits to encounter this new world of scarcity. From topics concerning globalization to square foot gardening to telecommuting, the library has brought local experts to enlighten the community about new ways of "doing" and "thinking." The Mt. Lebanon Public Library is our community "university", for adults and kids alike.

Lifelong Learners
When I was teaching, one of the benchmarks in our instructional plan was to enable our students to envision themselves as life long learners. Taking this to heart, I resolved that I would spend some part of my retirement taking courses & workshops at The Mt. Lebanon Library. What a joy it has been to study WWI., the life of Winston Churchill. the period between WWI & WWII, the genocide in Rwanda & the "lost boys", the poetry of Dr. Sam Hazo, & the life of Abraham Lincoln in the year of the bicentennial of his birth. I have become aware through other programs of how to use my digital camera & to make compost to improve our environment. Additionally, the library has had a wide range of activities to secure a more "green" habitat in our community. Together with so many diverse book clubs at the library, the citizens of Mt. Lebanon are so blessed in our library that makes us into our own "think tank." Also, the library has been enabled to find for us so many superb teachers that we would have been hard pressed to find ourselves.

Excellent Staff Service
I am writing to inform you of the excellent assistance that Jeremy, IT/Computers, provided me while I was in the Mt. Lebanon Library this past Thursday evening. I was having trouble accessing the online courses required for my new job and Jeremy adjusted various settings on my computer, enabling me to access these important classes.
I am grateful for his time and assistance. Jeremy obviously stopped what he was doing to help me and I was not even a customer making a purchase, as in a store. I have been a store manager for three years and I believe that outstanding customer service such as Jeremy's should be commended. Thank you.

Voting Space at Library
I do wish the library had continued to let its space to the voting board. The library is a much better place to vote than the school, which is rather difficult for the elderly and/or people who don't walk well.

Audio Book Search Challenge
It is more challenging to find a CD or Cassette Book when they are shelved together - much better when they were in separate sections. The quality of the books on CD is pretty low level.

Thank you for the wonderful display
The flower plantings and shrubs are beautiful. It is a joy to look at them. Thank you for the wonderful display. Don't know how you could surpass it next year.

Compliments on Children's Programming
Dear Mrs. Sutton,
We are writing to tell you how much we enjoyed each and every one of the "Concerts in the Courtyard." My 10-year-old son, Matthew, sat in the front row and was captivated by the talent he saw- and sitting still is not something he does often.
We also enjoyed "Terrific Thursdays", "Potter Pandemonium", "Bats", and "Stories for a Summer Night." You and your staff must have put so much time and energy into these programs. Surely, we're not the only ones who appreciate that so much!
Thank you!
