Book Length vs. Due Date

New non-fiction books such as the Einstein book by Isaacson (500 + pages) and the Dalleck book Nixon and Kissinger (600 + pages) are too long to be read and absorbed in 3 weeks. Therefore at least 4 weeks should be allowed before books of this length are due back. It breaks one's concentration to interrupt reading and to be put on a waiting list for a time before being able to resume reading books of this sort. (9.4.07)

I sincerely love the library

I sincerely love the library, because is all my life work in library over 30 years. But in my country libraries are abandoned.

I enjoy reading, but I don't have to since I can LISTEN instead...

Of course, I enjoy reading, but I don't have to since I can LISTEN instead to books-on-tape, CD's, and downloadable books from the library. Listening while I work, I can get two things done at once. Of course, my spelling has suffered in consequence: I once read (in a library book) that the more you read, the better your spelling is!
